With everything going on in the world today we all need to do some cleansing. We burn White Sage to cleanse our space and our bodies. Sage is a wonderful gift from Mother Earth. Use it wisely, and it will serve you well.
White Sage (Salvia Apiana) is native to North America. This sacred herb is traditionally used among indigenous North American people in rituals, ceremonies, purifications and house blessings and cleansings. Burning sage, also known as smudging, is an ancient spiritual ritual known to have purifying antimicrobial properties and help relieve some common allergens such as pet dander and mold.
Smudging can also be used as a ritual to rid your space of negativity and help create a positive environment for rituals such as meditation. Other benefits include mood lifting, ease stress, increase cognition and improve sleep.
Place your sage bundle in a bowl, shell or glass to hold ash. Set your intentions for smudging, crack a window and remove animals from the room. Allow the sage to smoke for a while. You can extinguish the sage bundle and leave in a fireproof bowl to be able to reuse the sage over again.
